Officer Fires At Man After He Rams His Patrol Car

Chattanooga Police said a patrol officer fired at a man after he rammed his patrol car with his vehicle on Sunday night.

At approximately 8:04 p.m., the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop at 3300 Windsor Court in the Brainerd area.

After the officer activated his emergency equipment, the driver of the vehicle evaded him, and the suspect led the officer down a dead end road.

The suspect then began to ram the officer’s patrol vehicle while attempting to flee.

Police said, "The officer fired his duty weapon during the suspect’s attempt to cause the officer bodily harm."

The suspect fled the scene.

Officers are still attempting to locate the suspect.

The officer was not injured during the incident.

It is unknown if the suspect was struck by the officer’s gunfire.
