Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter will be the special guest at the Hamilton County Democratic Party's Kefauver Dinner, Saturday, Oct. 18, at 5 p.m. at the Chattanooga Convention Center.
"This is a wonderful and exciting opportunity for Democrats across Southeast Tennessee to celebrate our heritage as we welcome Mrs. Carter to Chattanooga," said Party Chairman Terry Lee as he made the announcement. "In 1974, Presidential hopeful Jimmy Carter was the speaker at our first Kefauver Dinner. We are delighted Mrs. Carter will be here to continue the family tradition at our 40th annual dinner."
Mrs. Carter will be joined by Mary Headrick, candidate for the 3rd Congressional District; Lenda Sherrell, candidate for the 4th Congressional District; Gordon Ball, candidate for U.S. Senate; Joanne Favors, incumbent candidate for State House District 28; and Eric McRoy, candidate for State House District 27.
