Bradley County Mayor Gary Davis announced Monday night during a County Commission meeting that the Bradley County government has recently received a AA bond rating.

The county government formerly held a AA- bond rating.

Mayor Davis said, "A AA bond rating for a government of our size is unheard of."

He said when he first came into office in 1998, the county held an A bond rating.

During the meeting, Vice Chairman Jeff Yarber discussed potentially creating a registration fee of up to $100 for sex offenders in Bradley County.

It was decided that this would be drafted as a resolution for the next meeting.

A motion was also passed regarding the tree to be planted in memory of the late Judge Bill Moss. The tree will be planted directly across from where his office used to be.

It was also announced that the county will hold a joint meeting with the city within the upcoming weeks. The commission will decide on three topics and the city council will do the same.

Vice Chairman Yarber and Commissioner Bill Winters supported requesting a follow up meeting later for further discussions. Both suggested a round table discussion setting.

Finally, a resolution was passed to form an Information Technology internal standing committee.

The committee will work to cut technology costs.
