BlueCross Names White Vice President, Controller And Chief Accounting Officer

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has promoted Trey White to vice president, controller and chief accounting officer.

Mr. White’s new role includes responsibility for the accounting, external reporting, tax compliance and payroll functions of the company. Mr. White joined BlueCross in 2011 and was promoted to director of financial reporting in 2012.

“This promotion reflects the deep trust we have in Trey for helping to lead this critical area of our business,” said John Giblin, chief financial officer for BlueCross.
“He has proven he has the talent and judgment to help us to continue to succeed in the marketplace.”

Before joining BlueCross, Mr. White was employed by Ernst & Young LLP as manager of assurance services. There he managed audits for publicly traded and privately held corporations with a concentration in insurance organizations, including quarterly reviews of SEC-registered clients.

Mr. White graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science in business administration. He is a member of the Tennessee Society of CPAs and Financial Executives International.
