City Council Approves $1,750 Fee For Clubs Complying With Sound Ordinance

  • Tuesday, October 7, 2014

The City Council on Tuesday night approved a $1,750 fee for clubs that apply to the city to exceed sound levels.

The cost is to cover city expenses associated with the new ordinance that went into effect recently, officials said.

It applies only to clubs within the new noise control district.

The city will be notifying property owners within 300 feet of the club whenever an application is filed.

The city also has its own acoustical expert who will advise the city on the effectiveness of plans submitted by the clubs for adding sound barriers at their facilities to hold down noise.
