Baylor golfers Katherine Holmes and Tia Teiniketo tied for second place at the TSSAA D-II state girls golf tournament Tuesday and led the Red Raiders to a team runner-up finish behind St. Agnes.
Holmes and Teiniketo finished the 36-hole competition at 160 (+16) behind state champion Abbey Heck who shot a 1-under 143.
Heck and Eleanor Bursi (170, +26) gave St. Agnes a winning score of 313 (+25), while Baylor was 320 (+32) and GPS and Ensworth tied for third at 344 (+56) in the eight-team field.
The top finisher for GPS was Emily Blake who was tied for fifth with Baylor's Danielle Bates at 167 (+23),
On the boys' side, Memphis University School claimed its second straight title with a 599 (+23), while Ensworth (610, +34) was second, followed by third place Briarcrest (613, +37) and Baylor (627, +51) in fourth in the eight-team field.
The boys' individual co-champions were Goodman Rudolph (MUS) and Brock Ochsenreiter (Ensworth) with a 3-under 141.
Baylor's top finisher was Gavin Roberson who was tied for eighth at 154 (+10).
