A woman was robbed at gun and knife point early Sunday morning near a shopping center on Hixson Pike.

According to police, the woman had come to 3900 Hixson Pike to pick up an intoxicated friend from a nearby apartment.

While she was waiting, another intoxicated man came up to her car. He was later identified as 21-year-old Travis Allen Brenner.

Once at the window, police said Brenner pulled a gun on the woman and took $170 as well as her cell phone.

The woman told police that when she tried to get away, Brenner pulled out a knife as well.

She said he told her to stop or he would cut her.

Eventually, Brenner fled when another man heard the woman's screams. This man, 25-year-old Jeremy Davis, managed to follow Brenner long enough to see him drop a backpack.

Police later found both the gun and knife inside the backpack.

Brenner was arrested approximately two hours later. He was charged with aggravated robbery. Bond was set at $80,000.
