The Creative Discovery Museum’s annual Snow Day celebration will be held on Saturday from noon-4 p.m.

Museum guests will be able to spend the afternoon enjoying the first “snow fall” in Chattanooga with special guests Jack Frost and Suzy Snowflake as they participate in the following family activities:

Join Jack Frost and friends every 30 minutes in the Museum Atrium beginning at 1 p.m.

Snowy Scenery in the Art Studio from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Snowflake Tortillas in Culinary Corner at noon.

Welcome Chattanooga's First Snowfall with a performance by Tempo Dance Studio at 1 p.m.

Project Linus activity in the Art Studio from 1-3 p.m.

Hansel and Gretel Opera performance in the Museum Auditorium at 2 p.m.

Suzy Snowflake Dance Party in the Museum Atrium at 3 p.m.

“Snow Day gives kids a brilliant opportunity to engage all of their senses and actively participate in creative winter fun,” said Amy Barrett, museum experience manager. “Snow Day is becoming a tradition with families as they celebrate the beginning of winter and kick off the holiday season at the Museum with fun educational activities for the whole family.”

In addition to all these other snowy festivities, children will also get the chance to watch the Atlanta-based Capitol City Opera Company perform Hansel and Gretel at 2 p.m. in the Museum Auditorium. Capitol City Opera Company performs fully staged and costumed operas specifically designed for children. During the Museum performance five children from the audience will have an opportunity to participate in non-speaking costumed roles.

All activities and materials are included with paid Museum admission.
