DoubleTree To Host Inaugural ChattaNew Year

  • Saturday, November 15, 2014

For the first time, Chattanoogans will have a place to ring in the New Year together. DoubleTree Chattanooga announced today, with partner Cumulus Media, it would host ChattaNew Year: a celebration of all things Chattanooga.

Doors will open at 8 p.m. on Dec. 31. VIP ticket holders will enjoy a lively atmosphere to include music by Deep Fried Five, delectable hors d’oeuvres from Eleven Restaurant, and a full bar to include adult beverages and beer selections from Chattanooga Brewery.

Just before midnight the party will move outdoors, where a family-friendly street party will set the scene for Chattanooga’s first-ever Coca-Cola bottle drop. The giant 12-foot tall LED-lighted bottle will pay homage to a piece of Chattanooga history, celebrating 100th anniversary of the classic bottle design in 2015. Party guests and the community will be invited to gather in the DoubleTree’s parking lot to enjoy offerings from Chattanooga-based food trucks as they prepare to count down to the New Year.

DoubleTree will welcome Chattanooga Firefighter Jason Greer and his 17 year-old son, Tristin, to launch the official countdown, signaling the release of Chattanooga’s iconic Coca-Cola bottle. Greer recently touched the hearts of Chattanoogans when he completed the Chattanooga Ironman competition to raise money for the organizations that have helped treat Tristin, who is battling stage four euroblastoma.

ChattaNew Year sponsors include the Chattanooga Times Free Press, Coca-Cola, Cumulus, DoubleTree Hotel, Signature Brokers, Moon Pie, Vision Hospitality Group, YPAC and Derryberry Public Relations.  The evening will be Powered by EPB, who will also be the official sponsor of the Kidz Zone.

For more information, visit your favorite Cumulus station on line, go to ChattNew Year on Facebook, or follow them on Twitter @CHANYE.
