GNTC's Law Enforcement Academy Graduation

Nine Basic Law Enforcement recruits will graduate from Georgia Northwestern Technical College on Thursday. The ceremony will be held in the Conference Center on GNTC’s Gordon County Campus at 11 a.m.

The guest speaker at the ceremony will be Rep. Trey Kelly (R-Cedartown) an attorney with the Parker and Lundy Law Firm in Cedartown.

Mr. Kelly has held multiple leadership roles in the Northwest Georgia region including president of the Cedartown Exchange Club, board member for the Murphy-Harpst Children’s Centers, Polk County chairman of Governor Deal’s 2010 and 2014 gubernatorial campaigns, and chairman of the Polk County Republican Party. 

Mr. Kelly was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 2012.  In the Georgia State House, Mr. Kelly is a member of the Banks and Banking, Code Revision, and Judiciary Committees, while also serving in a leadership position on the Higher Education Committee.

The ceremony will honor a graduate with an award for academic distinction and the “Top Gun” award for excellence in marksmanship. 

Graduates of GNTC’s Basic Law Enforcement Training class #201402 are:   Justin A. Bohannon, Tyler E. Crosby, Amethyst M. Dunn, Patrick D. Dupree, Aaron A. Grant, Alejandro D. Hernandez, Wesley K. Holland, Luis A. Otalora Murcia, and Johnny D. Peterson.
