Kenco Chosen As Exclusive Logistics Provider For Coravin

  • Wednesday, November 19, 2014
Kenco has been chosen as the exclusive North American provider of logistics services for Coravin, Inc.
The Coravin Wine Access System is a new technology that allows wine to be poured from the bottle without pulling the cork. Using an inert, pressurized gas, the Coravin system draws single or multiple servings from the bottle without exposing fine vintages to oxygen, allowing each to continue aging naturally.
“We had been handling all the logistics in house since we first launched our Coravin system two years ago,” said Coravin CEO Nick Lazaris.
“But as our success soared, we knew we needed a 3PL partner who could deliver high-end services for our high-quality product.”
Kenco began handling shipping and returns for Coravin in March of this year, along with some light assembly. Fulfillment is based at one of Kenco’s Chattanooga facilities. In addition to consumer-direct shipments, Kenco will support the growth of existing sales to restaurants, wineries, cruise ships, and other dining/entertainment venues. Kenco will also provide parcel optimization solutions for Coravin’s domestic and international shipments.
“Several of us had worked with Kenco before,” said Calli Prendergast, vice president, IT and operations. “We knew we could count on their consistency of service and commitment to continuous improvement. That’s already been proven with the smooth transition we’ve experienced over the past few months.”
