Scott, Edwin Clark Jr. (Benton)

Edwin Clark Scott Jr., 77, of Benton, TN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Hospice Care Center in Chattanooga.

Ed was born on May 5, 1937 in Johnston, SC to the late Edwin C. Scott Sr. & Annie Mae Scott.  He was a well known banker and accountant in Louisville, GA before coming to Tennessee. He had retired from those professions and was currently working at Walmart in Cleveland, TN. 

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by one son, Mitchell Scott; and one brother Robert Scott.

Ed is survived by his wife, Wanda Scott; one son, Winfield Scott and his wife Martha of Louisville, GA; two grandchildren, Rebecca Scott and Winfield Scott II also of Louisville, GA; step-children, LaRhonda Edwards and her husband Tim of Cleveland and Mark Rymer of Jacksonville, FL; numerous other extended family members; and a host of special friends. 

A memorial service is planned for Sunday, November 23 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Ridge Cullem officiating. 

The family will receive friends in the chapel on Sunday, November 23 from 1-2 p.m.

In  lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the Kidney Foundation in Ed's memory.  

Companion Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
