Jessie V. Garner, 81, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, died on Thursday, November 20, 2014 in a local health care facility.  

She was born April 27, 1933 in Bakewell, Tn. to the late Arwin Allen and Dora Ann Varner.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruby Grimsley and brothers, A. C. Varner and Charles Varner.

Mrs. Garner was a 1951 graduate of Soddy Daisy High School and was retired from Provident Life and Accident Insurance Company after 18 years of service.  She was an excellent cook and loved flowers, especially roses. 

Survivors include her husband, Roger Garner; son, Ted (Kim) Garner of Soddy Daisy; sister, Robbie Dean Lively of Soddy Daisy; grandson, Taylor Garner of Soddy Daisy; and several nieces and nephews, Linden (Terri) Lively of Harrison; Johnny Grimsley, Mark Grimsley, and Chris Varner of Chattanooga; Lynn Wiley of Florida; and Robin Varner of Gatlinburg.    

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Nov. 23, at 2:30 p.m. in the North Chapel with Reverend Alan Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the North Chapel of  Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
