Gloria A. Brown, loving wife, mother and grandmother, died on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at a local health facility in Collegedale, Tennessee.

She was born in Taylor, Pennsylvania on Oct. 9, 1933. 

She was preceded in death by her father Mr. Michael Kubala and her mother, Mrs. Mary Hrindich Kubala both of Taylor, Pa.

Prior to retirement, she was the director of sales for the Chattanooga Choo Choo in Chattanooga, Tennessee. During her service at the Choo Choo she was well known for her creative talents in making sure that she took care of her employees with great appreciation for their work in the field of catering.  She was a member of St. George’s Orthodox Greek Catholic Church, Taylor, Pa.

Surviving is her husband of 61 years, Mr. Arthur H. Brown of Ooltewah, and formerly of Old Forge, Pa.  She is also survived by her two daughters, Deborah B. Smith (Ron), Lynn A. Hudson (David) both of Ooltewah, and one son, Arthur D. Brown (Lillian) of Old Forge, Pa.

In addition, she is survived by her two devoted brothers, Michael Kubala, (Louise) and Ronald Kubala, (Joan), her grandchildren: Jennifer L. Lewis, Knoxville, Nicole Parrott (Shane), Ooltewah, Alexandra and Trevor Brown both of Old Forge, Pa.; one great-grandchild, Michael Parrott, of Ooltewah; one niece and several nephews and two great nephews.

Gloria has always given freely in the form of donations to many charities in need of support. She hadbeen especially giving to any organization that supported the welfare of animals. She believed that these helpless creatures needed people like herself to survive.

 A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 11 a.m. in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Reverend Amy Nutt officiating. Interment will be in Ooltewah Cemetery.  

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 4-8 p.m., and on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at the Valley View Chapel.
