Larry Hugh VanLandingham
Larry Hugh VanLandingham, 75, died on November 21, 2014.
He was born near Louisville, Ms., growing up in Jackson, Ms., and longtime resident in the Memphis area. He was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church in Chickamauga, serving the Lord as prison ministry mentor and disaster relief as well as deacon in churches throughout the southeast.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton E. and Mattie B. VanLandingham; six sisters, Alice Holland, Louise McKinley, Helen VanLandingham, Hilda Blanton, Wynell Banks, Carolyn Aldridge, and brother Milton E. (E.J.) VanLandingham Jr.
He is survived by a loving family who miss his humor, devotion and selfless service, his wife of 54 years, Mary Ann; his four children, Wayne VanLandingham (Janet), Flintstone, GA; Rebecca Ann Butler (Larry), Memphis, TN; Paul VanLandingham(Susan), Foley, AL; Mary Ann Liber (Matthew) Salem, NJ; seven grandchildren Margaret Jones (Jerod), Memphis, TN; Katherine VanLandingham, Nashville, TN; Matthew Liber Jr., Salem NJ; Charity Liber, Salem, NJ; Erik VanLandingham, Flintstone, GA; Jonas VanLandingham, Flintstone, GA; John (Jack) Liber, Salem NJ; and three great grandchildren Hope Kolasinski, Memphis, TN; Madeline Jones, Memphis, TN and Autumn Wheatley, Salem, NJ. Larry is also survived by three sisters Dorothy Leahy, Hendersonville, NC; Cornelia Davis (J.W.), Pearl, MS; and Shirley Davis of Richland, MS.
The celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, at Oakwood Baptist Church, Chickamauga, with Brother Pete Delacey and Brother Mike Leake officiating.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Nov. 28, from 5-7:30 p.m. at the funeral home and prior to leaving for the service on Saturday.
