The Fine Arts Department will offer several musical and theatrical events during the month of December in the C.C. Bond Humanities Theatre on the main campus of Chattanooga State Community College. All events are free to the public, unless otherwise noted.
The Chattanooga State Music Department offers an evening of holiday carols and popular holiday favorites Tuesday, Dec. 2, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The concert features performances by the Chattanooga State Concert Choir, members of the music faculty, and music students.
That same week, on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 7:30 p.m., voice students of Dr. Jennifer Arbogast will present an evening of vocal solos, duets, and chamber music.
Then on Friday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m., Michael Westmoreland, tenor, and Janelle McDonald, piano will perform a student recital featuring works by Brahms, Chausson, Mozart, Purcell, Puccini, Weill, Schumann, and Rossini.
Theatre takes center stage on Tuesday, Dec. 9, when first year students in the Professional Actor Training Program present scenes from American Life. Performances include adult content. Second year theatre students perform scenes from the plays of Anton Chekov to round out the semester on Thursday, Dec. 11, at 7:30 p.m. Both theatre productions are directed by Sherry Landrum.
