One of two Chattanooga bounty hunters charged with kidnapping in an incident near Atlanta is a TVA employee assigned to Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, TVA officials confirmed.
Khalil Abdullah was one of two men charged also with false arrest and false imprisonment.
Scott Brooks of TVA said, "We can confirm a man by that name is an employee at TVA’s Sequoyah Nuclear Plant. We are aware the TVA employee is involved in a situation involving local law enforcement. We are cooperating with their investigation. Pending the outcome of that investigation, the employee’s nuclear security clearance has been suspended. The safety of our employees and the public is our top priority."
Abdullah and Kevin Roberson are in jail after police said they took a man's wife away in handcuffs after the man they were seeking was not home.
In an incident in Gwinnett County, police said the pair broke into a home wielding guns and found the man they were after was not there.
They proceeded to handcuff the man's wife, Tiffany Hayes, in front of her children.
One of the children videoed the incident, including scenes of the mother being placed into handcuffs and later led toward the men's truck.
Police were able to locate the pair and the woman, who was freed.
Officers said the men had no legal authority to take the woman, who said they were after her husband over a traffic offense.
