UTC's Gilbert Named SoCon Freshman of the Week

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga newcomer Keiana Gilbert (Columbia, Tenn.) was selected the Southern Conference Freshman of the Week for games played November 19-24, the league office announced Tuesday.

Gilbert posted strong numbers in three games over the past week, averaging 13.0 points per game, 7.0 rebounds per game and totaling 11 assists.

The rookie also recorded eight steals, while shooting .548 (17-31) over the three contest. Gilbert totaled a season-best 17 points against Butler at Hinkle Fieldhouse, adding eight rebounds and five assists. She then recorded her first double-double of the season on Monday night against Austin Peay with 13 points, 12 rebounds and six assists helping the Mocs to a comeback win over the Lady Govs.
