  • Wednesday, November 5, 2014

The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a man who was recorded by a home surveillance system looking into windows and checking doors on a house on Oneonta Drive last Thursday.

Since September there have been five burglaries that occurred within a ¾-mile radius of the address on Oneonta. One of those burglaries took place during the same time frame that the Oneonta Drive surveillance image was taken. Dalton investigators would like to speak to this individual to find out if he might have witnessed any of the incidents or have information on these cases.

The man recorded on surveillance at the Oneonta Drive house walked up to the house at approximately 11 a.m.

and knocked on the door. The other burglaries in the area have occurred in the time frame between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The man was recorded standing on the porch for approximately five minutes while also looking into windows and trying to open the front door which was locked. He is an African American male and wore a gray jacket with a black Atlanta Braves baseball cap with a white “A” tomahawk logo.

Anyone with information on this case or the identity of the man in the picture is asked to contact Detective Brian Shirley at 706 278-9085, ext. 189.
