Three Chattanooga neighborhoods will be receiving new outdoor fitness centers through a partnership of The Trust for Public Land and the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Health Foundation.
The Trust for Public Land’s Fitness Zone areas will bring the benefits of a traditional indoor fitness center to the outdoor recreation areas of community centers in the Alton Park, Carver and East Lake neighborhoods of Chattanooga.
Equipment will include elliptical machines, a chin-up and push-up station, leg and chest press stations and more.
The Fitness Zones project with The Trust for Public Land is part of the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Health Foundation’s
Shape the State program, which partners with schools, communities and others to bring opportunities for healthier living to thousands of Tennesseans.
A Fitness Zone ribbon cutting will be held at the East Lake Youth & Family Development Center, 3601 Dodds Ave., on Thursday, from 4-4:30 p.m.
