Tennessee Department of Transportation Commissioner John Schroer will join with state and local officials to celebrate the official opening of a new bridge on U.S. Highway. 41 over the Tennessee River at Nickajack Lake in Marion County on Friday.
Those set to take part also include State Senator Janice Bowling, State Rep.
David Alexander, State Rep. Billy Spivey and Marion County Mayor David Jackson.
The ribbon cutting will be at 10 a.m. on the side closest to Chattanooga.
Officials said the old bridge will be taken down.
Directions: From Chattanooga via I-24 West, take Exit 161 (SR-156) and turn right toward Haletown/New Hope. From Nashville via I-24 East, take Exit 161 (SR-156) and turn left toward Haletown/New Hope.
After you travel approximately 1/2 mile, SR-156 becomes SR-134. Continue following SR-134 until you reach the U.S. Hwy. 41 intersection. Turn left toward the bridge. Parking will be available on the roadway.
