Alpha Beta chapter members are now taking orders for their annual nut sale to benefit Boehm Birth Defect Center. Twenty-five different types of peanuts, pecans – including a new cinnamon spice pecan - cashews, almonds, English walnuts, macadamia, Brazil, pecan meal, and pistachio nuts are available in one-pound bags with prices from $4.50 to $9. Call Betty Jolly at 266-5215 for a complete list of nut prices or to place an order. Nut orders continue to be taken for as long as nuts are available.

Sorority members served hotdogs, chips, cookies and sodas to approximately 100 Boehm Center family members during the annual Roll and Stroll, held at the Mystery Dog Ranch.

The event marked the 27th annual Taster’s Luncheon to benefit the Walter E. Boehm Birth Defect Center. Opening the luncheon with Chinese auction bidding, guests were then invited to a taste a wide variety of salads and desserts prepared by Alpha Beta sorority members.

The annual fall fashion show featuring clothing and accessories from CATO was emceed by WRCB-TV news anchor Jed Mescon and guests were treated to Jed’s sense of humor as he introduced not only the models, but announced winning names in the Chinese Auction and handled a very successful bidding auction as well. This year’s $100 cash prizewinner was Carmen Craig. This fun annual event raised more than $4,300 for Boehm Center.
