Light Your Bike Family Bicycle Ride Is Friday

  • Friday, December 12, 2014

The Light Your Bike Family Bicycle ride is Friday, beginning at 6 p.m. This is a community bike ride organized by Outdoor Chattanooga in partnership with GreenTrips, Hamilton County Health Department, City of Chattanooga Department of Transportation and the Chattanooga Police Department.

Participants are encouraged to add festive lighting to their bikes in the holiday spirit. There will be a bike safety light giveaway (while supplies last.) The Chattanooga Police Department will be assisting in safety and traffic as well as the educational aspects of the ride.

Organizers said, "Group bike rides are important in providing safety information and details on sharing the road with motorists. This event will help give new cyclists the experience of riding with motorists and learn more about how to keep safe in the City of Chattanooga – whether you’re a cyclist or motorist.

The ride will begin at Outdoor Chattanooga (by the walking bridge in Coolidge) and is free.
