Construction will begin in Ringgold, Ga. this month on the new state-of-the-art Catoosa County Campus of Georgia Northwestern Technical College. State and local leaders in education and government broke ground on the 36-acre site in a ceremony Thursday afternoon.

“This kind of a campus is exactly what companies looking at building in this region will be looking for. A guarantee of providing a trained workforce,” said Technical College System of Georgia Commissioner Ron Jackson during the groundbreaking ceremony.
“Of course, breaking ground is my second favorite thing to do in my position. My favorite is cutting the ribbon on a facility like this.”

Georgia Northwestern administrators anticipate cutting the ribbon and moving into the Catoosa County Campus in mid-2016. The college’s soon-to-be sixth campus will be located at the intersection of Highway 151 and Holcomb Road in Catoosa County. The 12-million dollar facility will house a 60,000-square foot facility which will sit on 36 acres.

Seven years after the first designs were made, the GNTC Catoosa County Campus will open its doors and offer programs such as Business Management, Computer Information Systems, Early Childhood Care and Education, Electronics, Logistics, Mechatronics, Industrial Systems, and Paramedic Technology.
