Thomas E. Turner, 67, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014 in the arms of his loving wife and caretaker.

He was retired from Maytag, Cleveland and was the former partner and operator of Turner Hardwood Floors. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was a former member of the Volunteer 4-wheel drive club of Cleveland. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed anything outdoors. Hunting and fishing were his favorite pastimes, and he did not let his health prevent him from enjoying these hobbies.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Maude Turner; brother, Theron Anderson Turner; and sister, Vivian Hall.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda Swafford Turner of Cleveland; two daughters, Tina Turner of Cleveland and Amanda Turner Taylor (wife of Ben Taylor) of Cambridge, England; grandsons, Turner Lee Randolph and Hunter Blake Randolph (husband of Makayla Randolph) all of Cleveland; two brothers, Darrell Turner (husband of Helen Turner) and Ed Turner ( husband of Patsy Turner) of Cleveland; four sisters, Rebecca Burchfiel (wife of Bill Burchiel), Imogene Mooneyham (wife of Vernon Mooneyham), Ruby Barrett (wife of Ralph Barrett) and Diane Brown, all of Cleveland; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Janice Higdon Jenkins, of Louisville, KY, Barbara Guffey Brinkley (wife of Bob Brinkley), Marilyn Elkins (wife of Ed Elkins) all of Cleveland and Rick Swafford (husband of Jane Ashworth) of Nashville, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, December 15, in the chapel of Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home with the Reverend Ricky Vaughn officiating. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday December 16, in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Ben Taylor, Turner Randolph, Hunter Randolph, Brian Mooneyham, Joey Mooneyham, David Mooneyham, Bryan Meeks and Mike Ridge Jr. serving as pallbearers. Members of the Bradley County Emergency Medical Services and Bradley County Fire Department will serve as honorary pallbearers. 

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, December 15 at the funeral home prior to the service.
