Paul J. Baker, Jr., 74, of Riceville, TN, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014 at his home.
He was of the Church of God Faith. He was a member of the American Legion Post #81 and VFW Post 2598. Paul enjoyed horse racing and English bull dogs. He retired from Honeywell Corporation after 20 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul J. Baker; mother, Christine Hixson Baker; brother, Mitchell Baker; and sister, Anna Ruth Ditmore who passed away on December 9, 2014.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Tina Phillips Baker of Riceville; children, Joe Baker of Cleveland, Jeff Baker of Riceville and Jeanie Ledford (Stacey) of Cleveland; grandchildren, Tanner Riley, Brooke Riley, Mitchell Baker, Artie Hoffman, Corie Hoffman, Christopher Ledford and Kelli Ledford; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Lorene “Dinky” Mowery of Cleveland, Barbara Marr (Terry) of Cleveland and H.C. Baker (Janice) of Ringgold, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, December 15, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Sears and Pastor Steve Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Mike Henry, Dewayne Ballinger, Skeeter Baker, Kenny Satterfield, Phil Price and Horace Carden serving as pallbearers. John Sanders and Jeff Shoemaker will serve as honorary pallbearers.
