Louellen Mayes Remson, 75, died on December 16, 2014 in a local health facility.

She was a graduate of Alabama A&M with a master’s degree in education. She was an educator in the Chattanooga Public School System for 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J. D. Mayes and Judge Ella Watkins; step-parent, Cooper Watkins, Sr.; brother, Kenneth Mayes.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene Remson; sons, Kenneth and Ken Joshua Remson; grandchildren, Marquita Carr and Kenneth Walker; brothers, Jerry Mayes, Cooper Watkins, George Watkins, and Gretrell Watkins.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 23, at noon at Second Missionary Baptist Church with Minister Robert Johnson officiating.  Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.

The body will lie in state after noon on Monday, Dec. 22, and the family will receive friends from 7–8 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
