ArtsBuild President Dan Bowers has been named to the Americans for the Arts National Network Advisory Council. Individuals are nominated by their peers to advise Americans for the Arts on programs and services concerning the areas of Arts Education, Emerging Leadership, the Private Sector and Public Art. Mr. Bowers will serve a three-year term with the Private Sector Council beginning Jan. 1.
“Americans for the Arts is an invaluable resource to arts organizations across the country,” said Mr. Bowers. “I am honored to be nominated and asked to serve on this council. This is an incredible opportunity for me to be able to share what the arts have done and are doing to strengthen Chattanooga and to learn from others as well.”
Along with nine of his peers from united arts funds, arts and business councils, and local arts agencies across the country, Mr. Bowers will join an existing slate of advisory council members who act as national leaders and use their field expertise to connect the national work of Americans for the Arts to the work of their membership at the local levels. The Private Sector Council is an advisory group charged with helping Americans for the Arts develop and implement private sector advocacy programs as well as serving as leaders to other local arts agencies seeking to connect with the private sector.
Americans for the Arts serves, advances, and leads the network of organizations and individuals who cultivate, promote, sustain, and support the arts in America.
