Bessie Riddle Farmer, 98, of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, died on Thursday, December 18, 2014 in a local health care facility.

She was former employee of Peerless Woolen Mills and was of the Baptist faith. She was a wonderful seamstress and devoted to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Garland Riddle and Erastus Farmer, parents, Arnold and Dovie Newton, two sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include her children, Laverne (Frank) LaRue and Bobby (Peggy) Riddle, sister, Mary Bell McClain, three grandchildren, Greg Riddle, Nathan (Pamela) Riddle and Tammy (Robert) Hill, seven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Dec. 19, from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
