Veneta Wooten Blevins, 82, of Soddy Daisy, TN, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at a health care facility in Dunlap, TN.
She was a member of Miles Straight Baptist Church. She loved to travel with the Golden Agers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Blevins; parents, William Luther and Myrtle N. Evans Wooten; sister, Ruth Wooten; and brothers, Dillard, Mabron, Burnam and Vernard Wooten.
Survivors include her sons, Dwight Crook of Benton, TN, Denver Dean Crook Jr., Atlanta, GA and Michael Bain, Delano, TN; daughter, Cheryl Dawn and husband Allan Case of Kimball, TN; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 22, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Allan Goss officiating. Interment will follow in the Chestuee Baptist Church Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, December 21, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
