Review for Summary of Life of Walter Caldwell Robinson:
Beginning in the 1920s, readers follow the life of Walter Robinson as he starts to progress as a leader. His actions eased the strife for first class citizenship for black through exercising the right to vote in an organized manner. It reveals how he organized a voting block that could determine winners in local elections. Even though Chattanooga was strictly a segregated city, he commanded the respect from white elected officials as he worked as a leader of blacks from his office at City Hall. This biography portrays Walter Robinsons’ life as a successful businessman, an outstanding orator, an astute politician and a powerful leader.
