Hurley Smith
Hurley Ray Smith, 79, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area. He had worked at Standard Coosa Thatcher and Grady Smith and Son Moving Company for several years. Most recently he worked as a car transporter for Woodson Jones/Donehoo Chevrolet in Ft. Payne. He was of the Baptist faith and his passions in life were his family and spending time with friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Juanita Joyce Smith; three brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include two special nieces/caregivers, Vickie Wade and Tammy Anderson, both of Chattanooga; brothers-in-law, Paul Richey (Charlotte) Brown of Quitman, Ms., and Hubert Weathers of Chattanooga; and several other nieces, nephews, and host of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 23, at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Dallas Howard and Reverend Ellis Chasteen officiating.
Interment will follow in the New Home Cemetery in Henegar, Al.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Dec. 22, from 4-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
