Melvin Lewis, 83, of Cohutta, GA, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim & Emma Lewis; and granddaughter, Lana Lewis.
He is survived by a son, Marty Lewis of Dalton; sister & brother-in-law, Nancy & Kenneth Scott of Cohutta; brother & sister-in-law, Leon & Judy Lewis of Cohutta; grandchildren, Sandy and Heath Center and Lindsay Lewis; great-grandchildren, Cody and Jessica Center; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 27, at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 26 from 5-9 p.m.
