Charles Malcolm "Bobo" Hicks, Jr., 53, of Rock Spring, died on Tuesday, December 23, 2014.
He was a lifelong resident of Rock Spring and attended Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ringgold. He was the owner/operator ofCharles Hicks Sprinkler Co. for 25 years and had been working for the Pipefitters & Steamfitters Union Local #43 for the past five years. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend, with a heart of gold, who will be greatly missed.
"Bobo was walking into work on Tuesday, when he had a heart attack and passed away. He was working at CCI for the Gorgas Steam plant. Bobo was a traveling member of Local #43 and died while making a living for his family, Tragic but Honorable!" This was a quote from his union brothers.
Bobo was preceded in death by his parents, Charles M. and Catherine Blackmon Hicks.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 29 years, Lisa Hicks; son, Knowlton Hicks, of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Hilary Hicks Wallin and Austin Wallin of Dalton; brother, Michael Hicks of Rock Spring; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Rock Spring Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. on Friday and prior to the service on Saturday.
Flowers will be accepted, but memorial contributions to the funeral home in Bobo's name would be appreciated by his family.
