Christiane Lucie Burchard, 90, of Flat Top Mountain, died on Tuesday, December 23, 2014.
She was a member of Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church. Born in France, Christiane was a veteran of the French Army serving in World War II.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years that she loved so dearly, Archie H. Burchard, Sr.; parents, Arthur and Marie Maison and brother, Charles Maison. Christiane loved God, knitting and cats.
Survivors include her sons, Archie H. Burchard, Jr. (Barbara), Christian “Chris” Burchard and Michael G. Burchard (Tina); daughter, Cheryl Smith (Alex); cousin, Nicole Bourdeauducq; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday, Dec. 26, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Pat Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Varner Cemetery.
Visitation is on Friday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
