Dewight “Nathan” Hughes, 38, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at his home.
He was born on August 27, 1976 to Dewight and Debbie Hughes. Nathan was a dedicated husband to his wife, Nikki, as well as a loving father, son, and brother. He was a hardworking employee of FedEx. Nathan was known for being a friend to everyone, human or animal, and never met a stranger.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Fate and Maxine Taylor; his beloved uncle, Sammy Taylor; and his paternal grandfather, Hoyt Hughes.
Nathan is survived by his wife of 16 years, Nikki Hughes; his parents, Dewight and Debbie Hughes; his three sons, Kelton (Anna) Hughes of Fort Myers, FL, Davis Hughes of Cleveland and Sawyer Hughes of Cleveland; his sister, Shannon (Mike) Bentley; and paternal grandmother, Icie Hughes.
A celebration of Nathan’s life is planned for Friday, December 26 at 8 p.m. at Mount Olive Ministries located at 3522 Harrison Pike Cleveland, with the Reverend James Sears and the Reverend Gary Sears officiating.
A graveside service is planned for the next day, Saturday, December 27, at 11 a.m. in the Earl Cemetery with Mike Bentley, Mark Hamilton, Mike Henry, Sam Green, Adam Mathews, and Adam Gamil serving as pallbearers. Phillip Atkins, Gary Hughes, Tim Hughes, and Garry David Moore will be serving as honorary pallbearers. The funeral procession will leave Mt. Olive at 10:40 a.m.
The family will also be receiving friends from 5-8 p.m.
