Zepheree Taylor
Zepheree Jackson Taylor of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died on Friday, December 26, 2014 at her residence.
An educator for over 37 years, Zepheree taught in the Walker County and Chattanooga Public Schools; was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, the Clairvoyant Socialites and Diamond Duplicate Bridge Clubs, The Glenwood Neighborhood Association, former member of the East TN Teachers Association, and a lifetime faithful member of Phillips Temple CME Church.
Zepheree was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Raymond Taylor, parents and sister.
Zepheree is survived by her devoted daughter, Deartra Taylor Maxwell; a dedicated sister, E’Lois Waller of Washington, DC; granddaughter, Pie Maxwell Watt; adopted granddaughters, Denesia Gamble Pierce, Johanna Daye and Nicollette Waller; brother and sisters-in-law, Joe and Avie Taylor, Willette Taylor Perry and Geneva Taylor Bledsoe; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Phillips Temple Church Building Fund, 1321 N. Moore Road, Chattanooga, TN 37411 and /or the Gamma Iota Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Scholarship Fund, P. O. Box 3164, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015 at Phillips Temple Church. The family will receive friends from noon until time of service. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The Zeta service will begin at 11 a.m.
