Police Determine 43-Year-Old Dalton Man Was Killed While Walking Home From Church Meeting

Police said a Dalton man who was found dead on Dozier Street on Monday night had been walking home from a church meeting when he was killed.

Bruce Frazier of the Dalton Police said, "Our investigators have determined that Paul Guerrant had attended a meeting at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church at 901 Emery St. on the evening he was killed and was walking home from that meeting.  They have determined that the attack took place between 9:28 p.m. and 9:37 p.m

"He was talking on the phone with a friend who lives out of state until 9:28 p.m. and the 911 call reporting his body being found came in at 9:37 p.m.  Our investigators have been able to retrieve video from various businesses along his route of Mr. Guerrant walking as far as Frederick Street and he was alone on video."

Mr. Guerrant, 43, was transported to Erlanger Hospital and was pronounced dead after his arrival.
