Police Blotter: 12th Avenue Man Says Burglars Got 7 Flat Screen TVs, Other Items

A 12th Avenue man said burglars stole seven flat screen TVs worth $5,000 and other items from him while he was away for a week in Utah.

Nathaniel Vestal said the total value of the items was $8,200.

He said he is also missing a Nintendo Wii worth $300, three XBox 360s worth $600, a $1,000 Jackson guitar, an $800 air compressor and three weed eaters valued at $500.

A woman said she left her purse in her cart at the Bi-Lo on Lee Highway.

By the time she returned, it was gone.

She was able to track her cell phone to the grassy area where Highway 153 and I-75 come together, but there was no sign of the purse.

Hector Reynoso of 10th Avenue said someone broke into his Chevy Venture and cut out his CD, DVD and navigation system.

They also took two dog kennels and a bicycle from outside his house.

Police said someone used a large rock to smash the front of Carnceria Super Bendicion on Rossville Boulevard.

Nothing seemed to be missing inside.

The manager at Country Inn and Suites said a black male jumped the counter and took money from the cash drawer.

He then went to the dining area and spoke with the night clerk, it was stated.

The man was wearing an orange jacket, dark pants and a striped toboggan. He has a tattoo on his forehead.

Patrol officers said they were familiar with the suspect and would take out warrants against him.

Gerald Watkins of 39th Street said he heard the sound of his car alarm. He found that someone had broken out one of his windows on his 2011 Chevrolet Malibu.

While police were checking out the report, they got word that two suspects were breaking into other vehicles in that section.

A woman said while she was inside the Ridgedale Baptist Church Daycare on Hickory Valley Drive for 10 minutes someone went inside her unlocked car.

They took her purse that had been left on the floorboard.

At Beauty Trendz on Lee Highway, the managers said three black females made off with three packages of hair extensions worth $60 each.

They said one of the women who appeared to be pregnant distracted them while the other two got the items.

Two managers said they confronted the three women in the parking lot. When they did, one of the women slugged the female managers.

They then departed in a silver Civic.
