Walter Waller
Walter Pope Waller, 90, died on December 4, 2014.
He was born in Lexington, Ga., to the loving union of John Dudley and Eddie Lou Waller on May 2, 1924. He married a dazzling young lady named Jylene. Together they relocated to Chattanooga in 1942 to begin their amazing life's journey of love, happiness and total devotion to each other. Later to this beautiful union were born Arthur and Estella.
He was a faithful member of Greater Friendship P.B. Church for over 50 years. His ministry was best shown as he served others. He was a member of the senior usher board and a member of the Friendship Good Neighbor Club. He was employed by Mueller Company for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mrs. Jylene E. Waller.
He is survived by his loving and devoted children, son, Arthur Waller, daughter, Estella Smith and adopted daughter, Bettie (John) Elder, all of Chattanooga; sister, Mrs. Irene Daniels, Las Vegas; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ola Mae Waller, Chattanooga; Mrs. Rosa Echols, Mrs. Thelma Echols, and Mrs. Sarah Echols, all of Lexington, Ga.; devoted and loving granddaughter, Shay Smith; other loving grandchildren, Arther and Shonta Derrick, Jamarva Norman, all of Chattanooga; Artez (Ramona) Waller, Douglasville, Ga., six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, Dec. 8, at Greater Friendship Primitive Baptist Church, 1208 Glenwood Drive. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens East.
The body will lie in state after noon on Sunday, Dec. 7, and the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
