Mayor Tom Rowland meets Santa Claus

Santa Claus got a handshake from Cleveland Mayor Tom Rowland after the jolly visitor helped the mayor and Dr. Lindsay Hathcock, executive assistant for Bradley County Mayor D. Gary Davis, light Cleveland's downtown Christmas tree Friday evening.

The tree lighting and a Saturday Christmas parade officially ushered in the Christmas season in downtown.



Cleveland city government offices will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24; Thursday, Dec. 25, and Friday, Dec. 26, for the Christmas holiday. City offices will also be closed Wednesday, Dec. 31, and Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, for the  New Year's holiday.

The city clerk's office will be open during regular business hours Dec. 31 for property tax payments.
