Arch E. Trimble III, 61, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, December 6, 2014.

He was the past CEO of Arch E. Trimble Agency, Inc. and currently the President and CEO Trimble Insurance LLC.  He was a native of Chattanooga, a graduate of University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a degree in Insurance, UTC with a degree in Business (BS Psychology). Arch’s professional studies included NAMIA Basic Insurance School, Oberlin College, Ohio, Certified Insurance Counselor Schools and numerous other courses of study within the industry.  He served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corp and as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corp Reserve.  

Arch was an active member of Central Church of Christ. He was a member of the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club, Mountain City Club, The Honors Course, former member of the Chattanooga Nature Center and River Gorge Trust and currently a trustee at Weldon F. Osborne Foundation.  Arch was awarded the Outstanding Young Men of America, Chattanooga Insurer of the Year and Who’s Who in the South and Southeast.  He was also a member and on the board of directors for the Insurors of Chattanooga and the Insurors of Tennessee.  Arch was a member of the Independent Insurance Agents of America, Certified Professional Insurance Agents and Council of Insurance Agents of Brokers.  Arch also served as chairman of the Young Agent of Tennessee, PIA of Tennessee committee member and chairman of the CAN and PACER.

He served on the following councils: Travelers Select Accounts National Advisory Council, Penn Millers National Advisory Council, Unigard Insurance Group Advisory Councils, Regional and National, Utica National Insurance Group Regional Advisory Council, PGA Agents Advisory Council, Aetna Great Performer Club, Aetna Agents Advisory Council, CAN Pacer panel, branch and regional, and CGU Insurance Advisory Council.  Arch enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, hunting, fishing, and golf. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lou Gass Trimble and brother, Dr. Steve Trimble. 

Arch is survived by his wife, Vanessa Edwards Trimble; sons, Arch E. Trimble IV and his wife Kathryn and Reed Trimble; parents, Colonel, United States Marine Corps Reserve, Arch, Jr. and Jo Trimble; siblings, Tom Trimble and his wife, Cynthia; Beth Geary and her husband Tim and Frank Trimble and his wife Cheryl; sister-in-law, Joann Trimble; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 8, at Central Church of Christ with Minister David Schonoff and Alan Cates officiating.  Burial will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.

The family has asked that memorial contributions be made in Arch’s name to Central Church of Christ, 400 Vine Street, Chattanooga, Tn. 37403, or Martin Boyd Christian Home, 6845 Standifer Gap Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
