William “Bill” Cook, 81, of Dalton, GA, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was born February 18, 1933 in Polk County, TN to the late William Herbert “Buddy” Cook and Jessie Goins Cook; and was also preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Billye Cook; grandson, Todd Fogleman; and brother, Clarence Albert “C.A.” Cook.
Bill was a veteran of the United States Army, where he was a military police Sergeant and a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Dalton Elks Lodge for 44 years and was very involved in the National Hoop Shoot and was their regional director for 31 years.
He is survived by his children, Dajuana and Tony DeMarco of Alexandria, LA, Missy Whitley of San Diego, CA, Scott Arceneaux of Griffin, GA and William “Butch” and Carol Cook of Dalton; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and special friend, Claudel Hagan of Dalton.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 9 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Dr. Charlie Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Monday, December 8 after 4 p.m.
