Hamilton Heights post Abdulhakim Ado, under the watchful eyes of several University of Tennessee coaches, including head coach Donnie Tyndall, posted a double-double in the Hawks’ convincing 69-41 win over Christian Academy of Knoxville on Monday night.

The 6-foot-11-inch Ado scored 12 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead three players in double-figure scoring as the Hawks pushed their record to 5-1 on the season.

Ezekiel Balogun and Silas Adheke each scored 11 points for Hamilton Heights, which had a 30-13 halftime lead.

Lucas Campbell led CAK with 13 points, including three 3-pointers.

The Warriors scored more points in the third quarter (16) than they put up in the first 16 minutes.

The Hawks start four players over 6-6, but CAK couldn’t put a single player more than 6-2 and the size difference was apparent from the start. The Warriors trailed 19-7 after the first quarter.

Tennessee is one of several major-college schools that have offered Ado a scholarship and have also expressed an interest in Adheke.

In the girls game, Hamilton Heights posted a lopsided 63-24 victory and also has a 5-1 record.

The Lady Hawks’ defense, which held CAK to four points in each the second and fourth quarters, held four-time all-stater Anna Hammaker to nine points.

Jazmine Balogun led Hamilton Heights with 14 points, Amber Hunt scored 12 and Elizabeth Balogun added 10.
