The Salvation Army asked the community to assist the homeless by donating much needed toiletry items. The Candy Buffet Scoop heard the plea and responded. Owner, Jill Morgan, began calling business associates to see if suppliers would have shampoo, soaps, toothbrushes, and toothpastes they could donate. Ms. Morgan was successful in her calls and was able to put together 288 kits to be donated.
Ms. Morgan states, “I regularly donate to animal charities, The Angel Tree and other various organizations throughout the year but I just wanted to help those who need a little help during the holidays also.”
Ms.
Morgan along with the warehouse manager, Greg Kimple, will deliver the 288 toiletry kits on Thursday at 11 a.m. to The Salvation Army Area Command located at 822 McCallie Ave.
The greater community is encouraged this Holiday Season to give of their time. Volunteer opportunities can be found on www.csarmy.org. Folks can also call The Salvation Army at 423-756-1023.
Monetary donations are also needed to assist with this year’s increase in Christmas needs. Donations can be made by visiting www.csarmy.org, by calling 1-800-Sal-Army or can be mailed to 822 McCallie Ave., Chattanooga, Tn, 37403 or donating directly to the Red Kettles.
