Erlanger Offers Classes And Events From Feb. 17-22

The Erlanger schedule of classes and events for February 17-22 includes information on weight management, sleep disorders screening and Heart Smart Saturday on February 22.  Registration is required.  For more information on our classes and events, call Erlanger HealthLink at 778-LINK (5465), seven days a week from 8 a.m. until midnight. HealthLink Plus is a free membership program open to adults 18 and older.


Monday, February 17

Bariatric Support Group

5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Erlanger Chattanooga Lifestyle Center

Bariatric Support Group meetings are for individuals scheduled to have Bariatric surgery or who have already had weight loss surgery.  Call Erlanger’s HealthLink at  778-LINK (5465) for more information.

Sleep Disorders Screening

Do you always feel tired, even after a good night’s sleep?  You may suffer from a sleep disorder.  Find out more with this free screening.  Registration is required.  Call  778-LINK (5465) to register. 

Breastfeeding

6:30 – 9:00 p.m.

Erlanger Baroness (Downtown)

This class is designed to help participants make an informed choice about breastfeeding.  Learn breastfeeding basics, what to expect the first few weeks and special tips for success.  Concerns about returning to work/school will also be discussed.  This course is coordinated by a board-certified lactation consultant.  Registration fee is $30.  Call Erlanger’s HealthLink at  778-LINK (5465) to register.

Wednesday, February 19

Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Seminar

6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Erlanger East (Gunbarrel Road)

Area residents who are overweight and /or with health problems related to obesity are invited to learn more about the Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Center at Erlanger.  It is a free seminar and registration is required.  Call Erlanger’s HealthLink at  778-LINK (5465) to register.


Baby Care & Safety

6:30 – 9:00 p.m.

With times changing and discharge occurring earlier, “Baby Care” provides you with helpful items on caring for your baby at home.  This class will help you plan and prepare for a safe home environment.  Registration fee is $25.  Call Erlanger’s HealthLink at  788-LINK (5465) to register.

Diabetes Education Class

1:30 – 4:30 p.m.

Erlanger Chattanooga Lifestyle Center

This class will explore ways to manage diabetes.  Call 778-9400 for more information on physician referral and insurance reimbursement.

Heart Smart Saturday

9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Erlanger East (Gunbarrel Road)

Local heart specialists will be on hand to discuss risk factors, signs and symptoms and lifestyle changes you need to know to prevent heart disease.  Participants will also be treated to a heart healthy lunch.
