Warren Buffett Authority To Speak At Southern Monday

The 43rd annual E.A. Anderson Lecture Series put on by Southern’s School of Business and Management, will be hosting a presentation by Robert Miles Monday at 7 p.m. in Brock Hall, room 3205. His talk is titled “The Genius of Warren Buffett: The Science of Investing and the Art of Managing.” 

Mr. Miles is an internationally acclaimed keynote presenter and distinguished authority on Warren Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway. He is the author of three books, and has appeared internationally on many television programs.

Chattanooga Area Food Bank Receives $15,000 Grant From Arby’s Foundation To Help Walker County Schools

The Chattanooga Area Food Bank will be able to complement its Sack Pack Program with a School Mobile Pantry Program thanks to a recent partnership with the Arby’s Foundation.  Sack Packs are given to food insecure children at many schools across our twenty counties. Man Shot On Walker Avenue Friday Night

The Chattanooga Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened at about 10:10 p.m. Friday at 1700 Walker Ave.  Officers were told the victim had been taken to a local hospital.  Mark Parker, 51, stated he was in the 1700 block of Walker Ave. when he was approached by a black male who pulled a firearm and shot him.  Mr. Parker sustained non-life ... July Is Record Month For Court-Ordered Restitution In TennCare Fraud Cases

July brought a record for the state’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) in terms of the amount of money people have been ordered to repay the state for TennCare fraud. In July, people convicted of TennCare fraud were ordered to make $154,000 in restitution to TennCare.
