What's Holding Up The Shallowford Road Project?

Wednesday, February 12, 2014

Hey, TDOT, where are you? What's it going to take for you to finish the Shallowford Road project between Jenkins Road and the Y?

I can't even remember how many times the completion date has been announced just to be pushed back. Is there something we don’t know about this job that keeps holding it up?

Monday and Tuesday of this week I drove this stretch of road five times back and forth during regular working hours. There was not a single person working on the road. The weather was clear and temps were above freezing.

I don’t know what’s going on, but I can promise that the completion date of this project will just continue to be pushed back, especially if no one is working on it.

What Caused The Decline Of These Once-Great Schools

It seems strange that some schools are considered bad or failing. Our son and daughter attended Woodmore, Dalewood and graduated from Brainerd. At that time they were three of the best schools in Hamilton County. We bought a home in Woodmore so our kids could attend these schools.  Another strange thing is the fact that it seems no one is interested in the reason that the ... (click for more)

Criminal Court Clerk's Office Is Getting A Good Man

With the recent attention given to Vince Dean winning the Hamilton County Criminal Court Ccerk’s race and how he will handle the office and its staff, I believe I can provide some insight to him as a supervisor and boss.  I worked nearly 10 years for the Tennessee General Assembly, and for nearly all of them I worked as the sole staff person dedicated to the House Transportation ... East Ridge's JoJo Tillery Relies Heavily On His Football MoJo

(This is the 15th in a series of preseason stories on new high school football coaches, or veteran coaches at a different school, and top players in the Chattanooga area) The numbers don’t lie. East Ridge quarterback JoJo Tillery can be a nightmare for defensive coordinators. Do they make him run? Or do they want him throw the football? Pick your poison, fellas. ... (click for more)

Hixson Beats Silverdale For Second Volleyball Win

There's something about that second set that gives the Hixson Lady Wildcats trouble. Hixson lost the second set in Monday's volleyball opener against Sale Creek.  They did the same thing against the Silverdale Seahawks on Tuesday, but just like Monday's match, the Lady Wildcats came out on top, 3-1. Hixson won the first set with ease, 25-11.  Silverdale evened the  ... (click for more)
