Lee Softball Home Opener Postponed

Fans of Lee University softball will have to wait a few more days to enjoy the Lady Flames home opener at Butler Field. Due to a wintry weather mix the doubleheader scheduled with Tennessee Wesleyan on Thursday has been postponed. A make up date has yet to be determined.

The Lady Flames (3-3) will now turn their attention to the Gulf South Conference as they open up play with Union University in Jackson on Saturday at 2 p.

m. The two teams will play a doubleheader followed by a single game on Sunday.

Lee will open up play at Butler Field on Tuesday, Feb. 18 when they welcome North Georgia to Butler Field for a non-conference doubleheader at 2 p.m. 


Lee Women Win 70-54 Over Brescia University

A pair of freshmen led the way as Lee defeated scrappy Brescia University 70-54 in a non-conference contest on Saturday afternoon in Walker Arena. The victory improves the Lady Flames' record to 3-0 on the year, while the visiting Bearcats slipped to 2-5. Lookout Mountain, Ga., Raises Sewer Rates; Joins In Kudzu Fight

The Lookout Mountain, Ga., City Council on Thursday night approved an increase in sewer charges. The council approved ordinance 281 increasing sewer rates to $6 per 100 cubic feet of water from the previous rate of $4.77.  The new increase will be in effect in January 2015.    City Manager Brad Haven said the town will be replacing the flow meter for ...
