Bryan College Sophomore Brandon Cole scored his 1,000th career point at Milligan College on February 8.  The 6’2” post player now has 1,084 career points. He also has 575 career rebounds.

Cole currently leads the conference in scoring, rebounds, rebounds per game, offensive rebounds per game, defensive rebounds per game, and double-doubles.

Bryan Head Coach Don Rekoske stated, “It has been a real pleasure coaching this young man; what he is accomplishing is something special. To know we have him for two more years is really exciting and I think we will have the pieces in place to have a terrific group next year. To get to 1000 points during your sophomore year is really rare. He is as impressive off the court as he is on the court.”

On the national level, Cole is currently No. 1 in offensive rebounds per game (4.519), No. 2 in total rebounds per game (12.111), No. 2 in total rebounds (327), No. 2 in double-doubles (18), No. 4 in defensive rebounds per game (7.593), No. 5 in total scoring (688), and No. 6 in points per game (25.481).

Roy Exum: Al Sharpton’s Wise Remarks

I’ll admit I paid little more than scant attention to the Monday funeral of Michael Brown, the 18-year-old who was shot and killed by police bullets in Ferguson, Mo., after he allegedly was involved in strong-armed robbery. There are too many tawdry details and, in my way of thinking, there is nothing under God’s sun, absolutely nothing, that gives others the right to riot, burn ... (click for more)
