Bryan Sophomore, Brandon Cole, Scores 1,000th Career Point

Bryan College Sophomore Brandon Cole scored his 1,000th career point at Milligan College on February 8.  The 6’2” post player now has 1,084 career points. He also has 575 career rebounds.  

Cole currently leads the conference in scoring, rebounds, rebounds per game, offensive rebounds per game, defensive rebounds per game, and double-doubles.

Bryan Head Coach Don Rekoske stated, “It has been a real pleasure coaching this young man; what he is accomplishing is something special. To know we have him for two more years is really exciting and I think we will have the pieces in place to have a terrific group next year. To get to 1000 points during your sophomore year is really rare. He is as impressive off the court as he is on the court.”

On the national level, Cole is currently No. 1 in offensive rebounds per game (4.519), No. 2 in total rebounds per game (12.111), No. 2 in total rebounds (327), No. 2 in double-doubles (18), No. 4 in defensive rebounds per game (7.593), No. 5 in total scoring (688), and No. 6 in points per game (25.481).

Suns Sink Lookouts, 11-4.

City Applies For $27 Million Federal Grant On $52 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

The city is applying for a $27 million federal TIGER 6 grant for a $52 million complete reworking of the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The project would leave the current tunnel in place for westbound traffic with a single lane and build a new two-lane tunnel for eastbound traffic.
